Rescue Societies
HugABull
Want to show some love for all bull breed dogs? That’s what HugABull Advocacy & Rescue Society has been doing since 2003. It’s a community dedicated to rescue, providing advocacy and outreach, and responsible ownership and evidence-based, breed-neutral community laws.
HugABull’s foster and adoption program is at its core. They rescue great dogs from the shelter system and match them with foster homes, and ultimately with loving and responsible forever homes. HugABull ensures all dogs and applicants are screened thoroughly to set both up for success. Since its inception, HugABull has matched more than 500 breed ambassadors to wonderful homes.
The organization is volunteer – run and is always on the lookout for passionate, motivated people who can make a commitment to HugABull. Beyond foster care and adoption, there are many ways to make a difference!
Small Animal Rescue Society
Little critters need love, too. That’s the mission of the Small Animal Rescue Society of BC, a volunteer – run, registered society whose primary focus is to rescue and re-home small animals in need.
The society helps provide a safe haven while promoting responsible pet guardianship through education, advocacy and spay/neuter initiatives.
There are many unwanted animals in their care, and in the care of shelters everywhere. Please consider giving one of these animals a kind and loving home.
Network 4 Animals
Overflowing animal shelters are filled with unwanted pets. It’s a tragedy Port Coquitlam – based Lower Mainland Network for Animals Society works towards solving. Its mission is to promote spaying and neutering pets to address the needless suffering endured by unwanted pets.
While there are many groups focusing on pet adoption, the society tackles the root cause of pet overpopulation by reducing the number of unwanted animals through spaying and neutering.
With space in foster homes at premium, the society does its best to care for animals in most need, and has successfully places hundreds of pets in new homes.
